February 2010
To all of our
Family, Friends, Donors, and Recipients of the
“Jordan Alexander Bass Music Memorial Scholarship Foundation”

It is time to update the Jordan Alexander Bass Music Memorial Scholarship Foundation. We apologize for the absence of the scholarship awards in 2009.  Due to the economic climate, we were unable to satisfy the desired funds necessary to go forward in 2009.  Fortunately, the J.A.B.M.M.S. has been blessed this year with a personal / corporate scholarship donation for 2010.  Mr. Greg Anzalone with “Side Show Collectibles” also affiliated with “Clear Purpose” Chiropractic Offices in Westlake Village, has graciously sponsored the two scholarships for the dedicated music award recipients for 2010, totaling $3500.00.

Mr. Anzalone, words cannot adequately express the gratitude the Bass family feels for this very selfless and unexpected contribution. Your kind and generous support enables our beloved Jordan’s musical spirit to thrive through two music award recipients given the music scholarships in Jordan’s memory to further their music education.  Please know that you will forever be on our precious list of angels who support the J.A.B.M.M.S. Your name will be mentioned with honor at the awards ceremony in June 2010.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

It seems unbelievable that it has been nine years since our Jordan has been with us.  This will be the eighth year we will be awarding the “Jordan Alexander Bass Music Memorial Scholarships” at the Westlake High School Scholarship Awards Foundation Ceremony in June of 2010. Each year we attempt to extend the miracle of being able to award two scholarships exemplifying exceptional musical talent through two chosen awards recipients.  The first award, totaling $2500.00, is given to a student with a 3.6 or above grade point average acquiring a major or minor in music.  The second award, totaling $1000.00, is given to a student with a 3.0 or above grade point average acquiring a minor in music.  We pray for the chosen award recipients’ academic success and hope they remember that the memory of Jordan’s love and dedication to his music lives on through their future creative and artistic accomplishments.

In December of 2009, Jordan’s brother Jameson graduated with honors from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music with a degree in Music Business Industry.  He will be attending Law School in August 2011, and eventually hopes to become a copyright law or entertainment law attorney.  He is presently working at the law firm of Greenberg and Bass. We pray that he continues making extraordinary accomplishments in his life and that he is gently and comfortably content with the amazing direction the dedication to his education will be taking him. We could not be more proud of the exceptional young man he has become. Regardless of the great loss his older bother Jordan has been to him, he has shown immeasurable strength and courage that he has taught us to exhibit each and every day by example.  We thank God for the true blessing that our precious son Jameson has been in our lives.

Once again, we want to take this opportunity to thank all of the previous donors for their support of the “Jordan Alexander Bass Music Memorial Scholarship”. Our continued desire is to sustain the J.A.B.M.M.S. for the 16 years that Jordan graced us with his musical spirit and magical presence in our lives. He was an honor student excelling in math and foreign language and an accomplished junior golfer at North Ranch Country Club.  Although his academic dream was to attend Stanford University on a golf scholarship and become an entertainment law attorney, Jordan’s true peace and creative contentment was writing and performing his music on the piano and his guitar. The J.A.B.M.M.S. allows Jordan’s memory to live on through the lives of other talented students whose musical and academic accomplishments “will come true”.

May God Bless You and Keep You Safe, The Bass Family
